We are seeking a Tool and Die Maker for our Stamping Plant in Manchester, Michigan.

Job Duties:

  •  The ability to work with little or no supervision.
  • Good decision-making skills.
  • Able to operate the necessary tool room equipment, mills, grinders, lathes and have your own tools.
  • The ability to troubleshoot progressive and line dies, read a stock strip, make necessary adjustments in the production press and on the bench.
  • General maintenance of tool/sharpening and machining.
  • Some building of details from prints may be required.
  • Able to tig/mig weld preferred but not a necessity.
  • Work performed is off a work order system, all work orders must be completed and include the following pertinent information: hours worked, work performed, pulled inventories for the job, along with filling out the information in each individual job book of work performed.
  • Daily job cards must be filled out with the hours for any work not affiliated with a work order such as unplanned down time troubleshooting tools in the press, etc.  This must be turned in at the end of the work week.
  • Have good communication with the rest of the tooling team.
  • Follow all safety guidelines.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following 5S, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Responsible for quality of part produced per the operator instructions.
  • Know, understand, utilize and follow IATF 16949 and/or ISO 14001 procedures.
  • Attention to details related to customer specific requirements.
  • Support continual improvement initiatives and look for continuous improvement ideas. Supports and exemplifies corporate values and commitment to quality, optimism, ownership, teamwork, and communication
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications:

  • Journeyman Tool & Die maker preferred.
  • Three to five years related work experience.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
