We are seeking a Quality Supervisor for 2nd or 3rd Shift for our North Baltimore, Ohio Plant.
 

Position Summary:
Report directly to the Quality Manager and will also provide support to new project launch teams.  Required to support multiple projects and work with customer plant personnel to ensure proactive approach to customer issues and opportunities.
The primary responsibility will be to achieve premium levels of customer satisfaction for production and service supplied by the plant through operator awareness, appropriate inspection, audit programs, and the continuous improvement process.  Assist in establishing and monitoring priorities for short term and long-term quality support for all aspects of the organization, including non-routine trial, experimental, or emergency tasks.
Responsible for recruiting, developing, training, organizing, and deploying Auditor personnel for quality assurance and data collection tasks.  Work with the plant IATF 16949 Management Representative to maintain third party registration to IATF 16949 Standards.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assist in daily review of production quality performance
  • Assist with training of production personnel in processing and quality standards
  • Assist in monitoring of scrap and the support of scrap reduction teams
  • Support work flows, effective layout, and optimum process condition
  • Work in conjunction with Engineering to ensure products being manufactured conform to customer specifications
  • Utilize Six Sigma for internal and external defect identification and reduction
  • Participate in cross-communications through the Auditors E-Mail.
  • Assist in writing and critiquing plant procedures and quality documentation
  • Work with teams to develop process documentation, controls, and plant training needs as necessary
  • Assist in the use of 8-D methodology for internal and external problem corrective action
  • Support quality/dimensional control systems, i.e. control plants, FMEA, flow charts, and PPAP
  • Work in conjunction with Quality Manager to oversee plant PPM, QR, PRR, and 8D systems
  • Assist in preparing monthly and micro KOP information
  • Assist plant Quality Layout and Quality Lab Technician with gage qualification, i.e. gage calibration and certification, gage R&R, capability studies
  • Monitor non-conformances through the CA Database system for process alerts and product rejection, facilitating timely corrective actions and dispositions
  • Monitor quality containment on non-conformances by means of effective quarantine and timely disposition
  • Assist Plant Engineering to achieve proper support and PM programs for effective and efficient production of quality parts
  • Assist Materials and Production Control to achieve proper support and supplier quality programs for effective and efficient production of quality parts
  • Assist in developing/implementing Supplier Quality Performance database system
  • Serve as a customer contact for both internal and external quality issues
  • Coordinate review of customer returns of non-conforming material for root cause analysis and corrective action
  • Coordinate internal notifications and Quality Alert documentation in response to customer concerns
  • Support new launch strategies
  • Determine possible quality problems and prepare a list of concerns to be discussed with the launch team
  • Have safety contact with employees
  • Attend required H, S & E training with employees
  • Report to maintenance safety issues and follow-up to completion
  • Conduct effective, timely accident investigations and initiate corrective action
  • Train and encourage employees to follow safe work practices
  • Provide effective Safety Talks with a goal of 100% participation
  • Encourage employees to be involved in the safety process
  • Support the Return-To-Work program and identify jobs for employees in the program
  • Enforce rules and procedures consistently

Requirements:

  • A two year degree or at least three years of related experience.
  • Priorities plan and associated metrics for Quality Assurance inspection/audit assignments.
  • Quality Auditor roster and assignment schedule, including overtime (as necessary).
  • Quality Auditor development and training plan.
  • Documented compliance to Health and Safety requirements for Quality Auditors.
  • Documented responses, timely and appropriate, to customer concerns, i.e. Acknowledgement and Quality Alert forms.
  • Internal displays for customer returns to highlight defect concerns.
  • Files, current and retrievable, archiving completed inspection/audit forms and records.
  • Quality Hold Area maintained and organized..
  • Open and available to work 2nd or 3rd Shift.
