We are seeking an Quality Manager for our Teijin Automotive Stamping Plant in Manchester, Michigan.

Primary Duties:

  • Understand customer needs and requirements to develop effective quality control processes.
  • Devise and review specifications for products or processes.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety guidelines as well as legal obligations.
  • Supervise inspectors, technicians and other staff and provide guidance and feedback.
  • Oversee all product development procedures to identify deviations from quality standards.
  • Inspect final output and compare properties to requirements.
  • Approve the right products or reject defectives.
  • Keep accurate documentation and perform statistical analysis as required.
  • Preparation, implementation, and maintenance of Quality Control work instructions.
  • Maintain appropriate quality performance documentation, charts, graphs, etc.
  • Communicate effectively to inform all members of business unit on performance and results.
  • Serve as Quality Resource for Manufacturing Business Units.
  • Supports IATF16949 and ISO 14001 audits.
  • Drive performance improvement, goal setting and metric tracking across departments.
  • Improve results through hands-on manufacturing involvement across all departments.
  • Maintain, enforce, and measure quality assurance processes.
  • Test finished goods, as applicable.
  • Decide whether to certify or reject specific products.
  • Must understand the art of handling customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and tactful manner.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or equivalent work experience.
  • More than five years of experience working in manufacturing with metals, stampings in the Automotive Industry.
  • More than five years of experience in Quality systems implementation and management.
  • Auditing experience (LPA, VDA, IATF, ISO, etc.)
  • Problem solving skills (8D, 5 Why, fishbone, etc.)
  • Experience dealing with customer (preferably automotive)
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office, knowledge of the following programs helpful: Visuant, Honda portal, IMDS, AIAG-CTS, ETQ, QADEE
  • Understanding of process flow, control plans, and FMEA
  • Familiar with the use of calipers, micrometer, and other inspection tools. Ability to use computer software systems, Excel, and Microsoft Word.
  • Blueprint reading and GD&T would be beneficial but not required.
