Qualifications:  

Ability to lift 50 pounds, occasionally lift up to 100 pounds with assistance.  Ability to utilize hand-held tools/machinery/instruments, both manual and powered, both precision and non-precision.  Perform basic maintenance tasks, such as plumbing, painting, greasing, oiling, grinding, drilling, disassemble and reassemble simple machine parts.
Ability to weld and cut with gas torches, troubleshoot machine controls, use standard machine tools such as lathes, saws, mills, and drill presses.  Ability to follow maintenance procedures and maintain proper documentation, drawings and files. Knowledgeable in hydraulic, and pneumatic controls, materials and components.  Ability to operate, set, and regulate/adjust machinery.  Ability to trouble shoot machine controls, disassemble and assemble machine parts.  Ability to install conduit, pipe, regulators, and hoses.

Communication Skills:
Ability to read and interpret oral and written instructions received from supervisors, technical manuals, complex plans, diagrams or blueprints, rules, laws, symbols, visual display units, etc.  Ability to provide written information about problems/issues; enter details into non-computer records.  Ability to summarize verbal information.  Ability to verbally simplify/explain complex information or products in lay terms; advise on technical points; report problems/issues; brief personnel on tasks or situations.  Ability to communicate by codes, signs, radio or telephone.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees to present formal teaching/training sessions.

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to accurately perform math calculations, with or without aid of a calculator; analyze and summarize written numerical; use ruler, micrometer, calipers, and other physical measuring instruments; ability to read meters, dials, or calibrated scales. 
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to follow instructions, in a logical order, given in oral, written, schedule or diagram form.  Ability to observe, listen and determine if a situation is a health, safety, or danger hazard.  Ability to observe operation/process/machine and identify faults and/or diagnose problems or unusual occurrences.  Ability to ascertain job requirements from drawings/blueprints.  Ability to analyze and/or scan written information for useful content; critically examine information for accuracy/quality.  Ability to ask questions to establish information required.  Ability to compile, collate, classify, categorize and/or catalogue materials/information.

Education:
High school diploma or GED preferred, one to three years of related formal training, and/or one to three years of related work experience required. Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent form of two-years of college or technical school desired.

Physical Requirements:  
Requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping and stretching.  Requires occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.  Requires expose to machines, chemicals and solvents.  Requires hand dexterity and eye-hand coordination.  Must be able to operate simple to complex machinery.  Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
